CSCA Minutes CURLEW SCHOOL COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION Regular Meeting Minutes Chairperson, Heather Gibson, called the meeting to order. Others in attendance were: Jon Newman, Pam Newman, Joanne Tack, Jaigne Beck, Pat Young, and Wanda Fletcher. The minutes were approved as read. Treasurer’s report: Apple

Newman Joanne Tack who is listed as the principal signer of the Betterment Foundation was there to sign off on the SS-4 form. That will be done at a later time. Laurel Scott and Heather Gibson, representatives of CSCA will execute the funds for the scholarship. The principal is not to fall below $10,000. Jon Newman submitted a criterion, which was agreed on by the group. Mrs. Grumbach will notify students of the availability and criterion of the scholarship. There was some discussion about the CSCA scholarship and how the selection is made. The general consensus of those present was that the selection should be made anonymously. Students need to be aware of the scholarship early in their high school career so they can get started on community service. There was some discussion about changing the meeting day. It was decided to keep it on Monday. There was lengthy discussion about the upcoming “Trunk or Treat” which will be held in the MPR on Oct. 29. Eleven local musicians have agreed to provide music throughout the evening. The senior class will have a food booth and the haunted house. The junior class will have the cake walk, fish pond and Italian sodas. The sophomores will have a basketball shoot. CSCA will have caramel apples to sell, a dolphin game. There will be a carved pumpkin and costume contest. The NHS members or seniors will be asked to be judges. There will also be a prize for the best decorated car. A motion was passed to reimburse Heather for the purchase of prizes. Tickets will be used instead of cash. Each ticket will be worth $.25. Jaigne will sell tickets.
