CURLEW SCHOOL COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION
Regular Meeting Minutes
February 21, 2006, 7:00 p.m., Home Ec. Room

The meeting was called to order by acting chairperson Ann Seiter.  Others present were:  Jaigne Beck, Cec Hamilton, and Wanda Fletcher. 

The minutes were approved as read.

Treasurer’s report:
A donation from Kinross for $250 for the Science Fair and funds from The NSF check from the book fair were deposited. 

          Regular account:     $4669.95 (includes science fair account)                                                     ($1461.00 from apple sales.
          Savings:                 $399.09 

There was no School Board report.

Old Business:  Science Fair report by Ann Seiter

  • BPA has pledged $500.
  • There is roughly $1,000 available.
  • Supplies, T-shirts, ribbons, and prizes will cost $864.
  • Donations have been requested from the PUD and Coulee Dam Credit Union.
  • Need to start setting up on March 27th if the MPR is available.
  • Elementary classes will be free to visit in the afternoon on March 28th and on March 29th.
  • Job Corps may do projects.
  • Three teachers have registered class projects.
  • Other exhibitors include PUD, Stonerose, WSU on Forestry and State Fisheries.
  • Several designs for the T-shirt logo have been submitted.  They will be judged on transferability, artistic design, and on how well it relates to the theme.
  • Cec Hamilton has volunteered to help individual students with projects.
  • The 6th grade class will be serving a dinner to raise money for their Science Camp.

 New Business:

  • There will be a spring book fair.  Cec Hamilton is organizing it.  It will be a “buy one get one free” sale rather than a fund raiser.

 Meeting adjourned at 7:45.  Next scheduled meeting, March 20, 7:00 p.m.
