COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION Chairperson, Heather Gibson called the meeting to order. Others in attendance were: Nikki Wimpari, Brett Simpson, Cec Hamilton, Jaigne Beck, Gretchen Halbach, and Wanda Fletcher. Treasurer’s
report: Apple
money--$971.70
Science fair--$194.86 School Board report: Mr. Simpson reported that the newly elected member, Gretchen Halbach will take her position in December. Enrollment is fluctuating but steady. Old Business: We have received the EIN for the betterment foundation. Funds will be transferred at the end of the year. The information for the scholarship will be given to Mrs. Grumbach immediately to give to the seniors. Cec Hamilton has offered to make a brochure for that scholarship and the CSCA scholarship to post by Mrs. Grumbach’s office. Trunk or Treat was a success. $349.00 was taken in and will be distributed to the various classes and organizations according to the tickets used. CSCA earned $88.00 on the caramel apple sales and dolphin ring toss. New Business: Gretchen Halbach reported that the apple sales will total approximately $1400.00 and will go to help pay for the 6th grade Science Camp. The 6th graders were actively involved in bagging and selling the apples. Heather is applying for a matching contribution from Wal-Mart. Gretchen will assist here with the application letter. The Science Van featuring Space Odyssey will be here on April 14. The Science Fair is scheduled for March 29. Anne Seiter will be the organizer again this year. Entries will be evaluated and given feedback but it will not be competitive. Anne will be at the Dec. or Jan. meeting to present her ideas for the fair. We are encouraged to get ideas from the students for a theme. The Book Fair with the theme of ENTER THE KINGDOM OF READING WHERE BOOKS RULE is scheduled for Dec. 13-19. Family night is on Dec. 17. Volunteers will be asked to help out so it can be available throughout the day. Cec Hamilton who is running it again this year has limited times that she’s available due to her Americorps position.
