Welcome to Curlew, Washington's Fourth Grade classroom!
 
Fourth grade classroom teacher, Reed Benson, is pleased to provide you with information regarding our town, and the learning activities/events taking place in our classroom.  We are a small, rural community situated near the Canadian Border in Northcentral Washington State.  Our student enrollment of approximately 200 students P-12 are housed in one building.  There are 16 certified teachers on staff.  The economic base of Curlew includes state and federal positions, mining, farming, ranching, and a handful of private business ownerships. 
 
 
ABOUT MR. BENSON
 
Mr. Benson has been educating third, fourth, and fifth grade children in two Eastern Washington school districts since August of 2002.  His initial two-year teaching assignment was spent in the Wahluke School District, a small community along the Columbia River in Central Washington.  The remaining eight years have been spent teaching third, fourth, and fifth grade students in Curlew.  He has earned two degrees, a Bachelor of Science in Business and Finance from Central Washington University in 1996, and a Masters in Teaching K-8 from Whitworth College in 2002.  Mr. Benson has enjoyed a mixture of ethnic and socio-economic teaching experiences.
