Covid 19 -Information

Hello Curlew School Families,

I hope that you are all doing well. The school closure has generated several questions and complications around providing educational services to our community.

It is Curlew School District’s goal to provide stability and resources to our community during this time. Meal deliveries have begun and plans are being made to identify and support educational opportunities for our students. Curlew staff will continue to work during the school closure. We are adhering to the Governor’s mandates and requests for safety, including social distancing, groups of ten or less, and working from home whenever possible. We encourage you to do the same.

During this time teachers will not be able to continue to teach their course material. Essentially, we have "pressed pause". As a result, I have asked staff to think about enrichment opportunities for students that fit the following criteria:

  1. Optional content only.
  2. Non-graded/not collected.
  3. Activities-enrichment, explorations.

Information on how we will get these items to students will be worked out and communicated to parents in the coming days.

We are planning for school to reopen on April 27th. Many of you have questions about graduation, credits, requirements, etc. Please know that we are working to answer these questions, many of which require action taken by state agencies. The State Board of Education (SBE) will be providing guidance toward graduation requirements on Monday. Information around College in the High School may not come out until late April. We will be ready to act in each of these areas when we receive the necessary information.

Our staff is committed to serving students and helping them get the best education possible. When making decisions, Curlew School works to consider many circumstances and factors, and we believe that our approach is reasonable, sustainable, and equitable for all students. Simply put, we will continue to do what is best for our students and community.
